HOW OUR SERVICE WORKS
Once your Consignment Collective 'Sell With Us' spot has been confirmed, simply prepare your quality items and either post them to us or arrange a local drop-off. You'll receive an email with everything you need to know, including where to send your items and how to prepare them.
📦 Packing your items: You can use Australia Post pre-paid satchels or your own sturdy box (a nappy box or similar size is perfect). Please note that Valley Kids Collective does not provide boxes or satchels.
Once your items arrive, we'll take care of the rest!
✨ Here's what happens next ✨
1️⃣ We receive & process your items
Every item is carefully inspected against our Quality Standards.
2️⃣ We prepare everything for sale
Accepted items are professionally laundered (where required), photographed, priced and listed on our website. Your items may also be available for purchase at our monthly markets across NSW, giving them even more exposure.
3️⃣ Your items are listed for up to 6 months
Items remain available for sale for six months. During the final month, any unsold items are reduced by 30%, followed by a 50% discount in the final week to help find them a new home.
4️⃣ Get paid & track everything online
You'll receive monthly payouts on the 1st of each month for items sold during the previous month. Every consignor also receives access to their own secure Consignor Portal, where you can track your accepted items, sales, account balance and payment history. Please note that if an item sells during the final sale period, your commission will be calculated based on the discounted sale price.
💡 Have a large collection?
If you'd like to send or drop off bulk quantities, you're more than welcome to do so at your own cost. Simply email hello@valleykidscollective.com.au first so we can arrange your consignment.
VIEW OUR QUALITY STANDARDS
At Valley Kids Collective, we carefully curate every collection to ensure our customers receive beautiful, high-quality children's clothing they'll love. Before sending your items, please take a few moments to review our Quality Standards.
👕 Please note: Not all brands are accepted through our consignment service. Before sending your items, please check our Accepted Brands List to ensure your items qualify.
✅ What We Accept
We currently accept quality children's clothing, shoes and selected accessories that align with our boutique collection.
This includes:
🌿 Australian and New Zealand brands
♻️ Brands with a focus on sustainability, including responsibly sourced, recycled or organic fabrics
🤍 Brands that demonstrate ethical manufacturing practices
👶 Clothing from Tiny Baby (00000) through to Size 12
👟 Shoes from Baby EU15 through to Kids Size 5
🎀 Selected accessories including beanies, hats, headbands, bibs, swaddles, wraps, TOG-rated sleeping bags, hair accessories and bags.
All items must be clean, freshly laundered and in excellent preloved condition, or brand new with tags.
🚫 What We Don't Accept
To maintain the quality of our collection, we are unable to accept:
• Fast fashion and mass-market brands such as Kmart, Target, H&M, Zara, Best&Less, Shein, Temu and similar retailers.
• Items with stains, holes, tears, strong odours, excessive pilling, fading, stretching, missing buttons, broken zips, loose stitching, pet hair, smoke smells or any other noticeable flaws.
• Handmade items.
• Bedding or linen.
• Costumes or dress-up clothing.
• Underwear or slippers.
• Socks or singlets unless they are brand new with tags.
• Any items outside our accepted clothing, footwear and accessory categories.
🩶 Items with minor flaws that still meet our selling standards may be listed at a reduced sale price, resulting in a lower payout.
🚫 Items that do not meet our Quality Standards will not be listed for sale and will be managed according to the option selected in your Consignment Agreement.
💡 Tips Before Sending
✔ Check every item in natural daylight, as small marks and flaws can easily be missed under artificial lighting.
✔ Wash and neatly fold all clothing before packing.
✔ Double-check pockets and fasten all buttons and zips.
✔ Pair shoes together before packing.
✔ If you wouldn't confidently buy the item preloved or gift it to a friend, it's probably not suitable for consignment.
📖 For detailed condition requirements, examples of accepted and non-accepted items, and our full assessment criteria, please view our Quality Standards Guide below.
COMMISSION & PAYMENTS
At Valley Kids Collective, we're committed to making our commission and payment process simple, transparent and fair. We do all the hard work—from preparing your items for sale to connecting them with families across Australia—so you can simply sit back and receive your payouts.
💰 How We Price Your Items
All items are professionally priced by Valley Kids Collective based on a range of factors, including:
🏷️ Brand
✨ Overall condition
🛍️ Current retail price (RRP)
📈 Current resale demand
🍂 Seasonal and on-trend styles
We carefully research comparable sales and current market demand to ensure every item is priced competitively, giving buyers great value while maximising your return.
📣 When you consign with Valley Kids Collective, your items are promoted to a growing community of parents shopping for quality new and preloved children's clothing through our website and local markets across NSW.
💎 What Affects Your Payout?
The amount you earn depends on the quality and desirability of the items you consign.
Generally:
✨ Premium brands in excellent condition achieve the highest resale prices and payouts.
🩶 Items with minor flaws or visible signs of wear may still be accepted but will be priced lower to reflect their condition.
The stronger the brand and the better the condition, the greater the earning potential.
💵 Commission
For accepted items, commission is based on the item's condition at the time it is assessed by Valley Kids Collective.
✔ 40% of the final sale price
- Brand New With Tags (BNWT)
- Excellent Used Condition (EUC)
- Very Good Used Condition (VGUC)
Items assessed as GUC, Loved or Play Condition may be declined at Valley Kids Collective's discretion if we believe they are unlikely to sell or do not meet the quality expectations of our customers.
Where these items are not accepted, they will either:
📦 Be returned to you (return postage at your expense), or
💚 Be donated to one of our charity partners, depending on the preference selected in your Consignment Agreement.
Please note that we only accept selected brands. We recommend reviewing our Accepted Brands List before submitting your items.
📱 Track Everything Online
Every consignor receives access to their own secure Consignor Portal, where you can monitor your consignment at any time.
From your portal, you'll be able to:
✔ View accepted items
✔ See current listing prices
✔ Track sold items
✔ Monitor your account balance
✔ View payment history
You'll always know exactly how your consignment is performing.
📅 Payments
Payouts are made via bank transfer on the 1st of every month for all items sold during the previous calendar month.
Please note that if your items sell during the final clearance period, your commission will be calculated based on the discounted sale price.
Our goal is to make consigning as simple, transparent and rewarding as possible, while helping quality children's clothing find another loving home.
WHAT HAPPENS TO UNSOLD ITEMS?
While we do our very best to find every item a new home, sometimes not everything sells during the consignment period. At Valley Kids Collective, we're committed to ensuring every item is handled responsibly and sustainably.
🩶 End of Your Consignment Period
All accepted items are listed for 6 months. During the final month, remaining items are automatically discounted by 30%, followed by a 50% discount in the final week to give them every opportunity to sell.
If items remain unsold after the full consignment period, you'll have three options:
💚 Option 1: Donate Your Items
You can choose to donate your unsold items through one of our trusted charity partners, helping support families in need across Australia.
We proudly support organisations including:
• We Care Connect
• Dandelion Support Network
Your donation helps quality children's clothing continue its journey while making a meaningful difference to local families.
📦 Option 2: Have Your Items Returned
If you'd prefer to have your remaining items returned, we're happy to arrange this for you.
Please note:
• Return postage is the consignor's responsibility.
• Shipping costs are calculated based on the Australia Post parcel size required.
💵 Option 3: Cash Collective Buyout
If you don't wish to have your items returned or donated, Valley Kids Collective may purchase your remaining accepted items through our Cash Collective buyout option.
Payments are calculated using the original listing price of each remaining item (not the final discounted sale price).
Buyout Rates
✨ 20% of the original listing price
• Brand New With Tags (BNWT)
• Excellent Used Condition (EUC)
• Very Good Used Condition (VGUC)
Example: A bundle originally listed for $115 would receive a $23.00 payout.
🩶 10% of the original listing price
• Good Used Condition (GUC)
• Loved Condition
• Play Condition
Example: A bundle originally listed for $85 would receive an $8.50 payout.
Cash Collective payments are made via bank transfer on the 1st of the following month after your consignment period has ended.
♻️ Our Commitment to Sustainability
As a proud Supporter of Seamless Australia, we're passionate about reducing textile waste and keeping quality children's clothing in circulation for as long as possible.
Every unsold or unaccepted item is handled thoughtfully and responsibly, with the goal of finding it another home wherever possible—helping ensure that nothing unnecessarily ends up in landfill.
CONSIGNMENT AGREEMENT
Please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully before applying to consign with Valley Kids Collective. By submitting your 'Sell With Us' application and signing your Consignment Agreement, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms & Conditions, together with our Quality Standards Guide, Accepted Brands List, Commission & Payments information, FAQs and all policies relating to our consignment service.
📦 Our Consignment Service
Valley Kids Collective operates as a children's clothing consignment service within Australia. By consigning your items, you appoint Valley Kids Collective as your agent to professionally prepare, photograph, price, market and sell your accepted items on your behalf. All items submitted must comply with our current Accepted Brands List, sizing requirements and Quality Standards Guide. Valley Kids Collective reserves the right to update these policies, commission rates and service guidelines at any time. Items will always be assessed against the policies current at the time they are received. Any attempt to misrepresent the condition of an item, including reattaching swing tags to previously worn or washed garments, may be considered fraudulent and may result in your consignment being cancelled.
📦 Sending Your Items
You are responsible for your items until they have been safely received by Valley Kids Collective. We are not responsible for parcels that are lost, delayed or damaged while in transit. Upon arrival, every item is individually inspected against our Quality Standards. Items that do not meet our acceptance criteria may, at our discretion, be accepted at a reduced commission rate, returned to you at your expense, donated to one of our charity partners or responsibly recycled where appropriate.
💰 Pricing & Sales
All items are priced solely at the discretion of Valley Kids Collective. Pricing is determined using factors such as brand, condition, current retail value, resale demand, seasonal relevance and comparable market sales. We also determine all photography, product descriptions, marketing, promotional activity and discounting. To maximise the opportunity for sale, items may be included in promotional campaigns throughout the consignment period. During the final month of your six-month consignment, remaining items may be discounted by 30%, followed by 50% during the final week. Commission is always calculated from the final sale price.
💵 Payments
Payouts are made via bank transfer on the 1st day of each month for all completed sales from the previous calendar month. No upfront payment is provided. Every consignor receives access to a secure Consignor Portal, where accepted items, listings, sales, commissions, balances and payment history can be viewed at any time.
👕 Ownership of Goods
Ownership of all consigned items remains with you until an item has been sold and payment has been successfully received from the purchaser. Once a sale has been completed, ownership transfers to the purchaser.
🚫 Cancellation & Withdrawal
If you wish to cancel your consignment before sending your items, please contact us as soon as possible. Once your items have been received, processed, photographed or listed, significant time and resources have already been invested. Should you request the return of your items after processing has commenced, a $10 administration fee, $1 processing fee per listed item, plus return postage will apply. These fees must be paid before your items are returned. Valley Kids Collective reserves the right to cancel any consignment where items fail to meet our policies, fraudulent activity is suspected or repeated breaches of our service requirements occur.
✔ Your Responsibilities
By consigning with Valley Kids Collective, you agree to review all information relating to our service before submitting your application. All items must be clean and free from stains, excessive wear, mould, smoke odours, pet hair or damage. It is your responsibility to ensure every item complies with our current Accepted Brands List and Quality Standards Guide. Repeated submission of unsuitable brands or items that do not meet our standards may result in future consignment applications being declined.
📦 Unsold Items
At the conclusion of your six-month consignment period, any unsold items will be managed according to the option selected when your consignment commenced. Available options include return of items (return postage at your expense), Cash Collective Buyout or donation to one of our nominated charity partners. Where return postage is required, payment must be made within the timeframe advised. If payment or instructions are not received within 14 days of contact regarding unsold, declined or returnable items, you authorise Valley Kids Collective to donate, responsibly recycle, rehome or otherwise dispose of those items at its discretion.
⚠ Limitation of Liability
While Valley Kids Collective will exercise all reasonable care when handling your items, we accept no liability, to the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, for loss, theft, accidental damage, fire, flood, courier delays, system failures or any event beyond our reasonable control.
♻ Our Commitment
As a proud Supporter of Seamless Australia, Valley Kids Collective is committed to extending the life of children's clothing and reducing textile waste. Wherever possible, accepted, declined and unsold items will be responsibly rehomed, donated or recycled to help keep quality clothing in circulation and out of landfill.
